The Government of South Sudan is ready to Construct Roads from Maluth, Longechuk and Maiwut County

MALAKAL, SOUTH SUDAN - Recently, South Sudan and state government have invited constructions companies to participate in the bidding of roads' constructions in Upper Nile State.

More than 30 companies international and national were invited; the governor’s office instructed them to do the survey within this raining season as well as present the cost of estimate, and after the evaluation from the governor’s office in collaboration with the office of Minister of Physical Infrastructure and Rural Development, the winner will begin their operations by November 2012.

Among the participant companies are Sunshine International group (H.K.) Ltd and CHINA WU YI CO. LTD. At the end of July 2012, Hon. Bol Ruach Rom, the Minister of Physical Infrastructure and Rural Development for the Upper Nile State has made an arrangement for the Sunshine International Construction Company to go to site for an inspection. The company engineers and crews were accompanied by the state official (Titus lonh) to the construction sites.

Week later, another company (China Wu Yi company) of South Sudan was warmly welcome by the state Ministry of Physical infrastructure and Rural Development. Once again, Titus Lonh, the state officials escorted the China Wu Yi Construction Company to the sites. The companies were keen on expedite the process and could start mobilizing their equipment and human resources if awarded the work.

The Governor of Upper Nile State Maj. Gen. Simon Kun Puoch and his Minister Hon. Bol Ruach Rom has prioritized the state's development plan as. 

1. (Malakal) Internal Roads

2. Roads connection among Upper Nile Counties.

3. Urban and Rural Water services in emerging counties

4. Power line connecting Malakal and counties

5. Sanitation and health care in the state

6. Agriculture sectors

“The Upper Nile State Government is ready to implement the above tasks with the help from the National Government of South Sudan,” according to the statement from the governor's office.

“The state is working tirelessly to deliver the services to the citizen of Upper Nile State and fulfill the promised by SPLM Party to the people of Upper Nile State citizens and entire population of South Sudan during the first historical election,” the statement added.

The citizens of Upper Nile State were very excited during the launch of Malakal internal roads' construction on November 1st, 2011. The Upper Nile people are thanking their current Governor Simon Kun Puoch for bring real change to their state saying that Governor Kun Puoch “bring peace and development” to the Upper Nile people.
